Never had one done before on my natural nails...had acrylic nails once, though. Do manicures actually make your nails stronger? I'm finally growing mine out but I'm prone to breaks. Do manicures help with that? Thanks!

Yes, they do, IMO. I did the same..took off the fakes,tips, acrylics and my nails are in great shape. I used Nail Envy to help strenghten them and still use it. Getting manicures cleans them up and polish is always a protector and helps keep them strong.
It may take some time. Mine took a good 4 months to finally look good. Be patient! I actually like my real nails better

Oh, that was in highschool when I had acrylic nails, about 8 years ago! Wow, time flies. The reason why I think my nails were bad before is becaues I work a lot with my hands and I'm not careful. But having my e-ring has forced me to be more careful, and so I think my nails are better because of it. I've also been using Christian Dior nail cream that I got a sephora. I recommend it!

i use nailtiques formula 2, adn it really helps my nails. they dont break as much as they used to.

i feel manicures do help... they def make you pay more attn to your nails which helps the growing process in a way.
nail polish, altho they make your nails even prettier, theyalso have its bad points like making your nails turn yellow(ish).

Yeah, I know some people whose nails are yellow. How do you prevent that? Is clear nail polish safe?

a good base coat will prevernt the nail from turning yellow.
as for the color of the polish turning yellow, its best to keep coating the nail with clear poish. when it starts losing luster, thats when its about to turn yellow.

Yes as for the yellow nails, you should use a base coat prior to nail polish color to avoid the yellow tint. It happens on dark colors like reds( direct color on nails). I tend to wear them with no yellowing effect

I use to get tips and they have ruined my nails....really damaged nail beds...so i started to grow them out and now i get them wrapped and they are so much better. My nailbeds probably will never go back to normal but i don't mind paying the money for wraps because they make my nails so much stronger and easier to live with.

When I have manicures they look so much better and hardly ever break, without the manicure, they look terrible..my naisl are so bad, I haven't been for a manicure in weeks.
