Mansion at Timber Point

Any opinions on the Mansion at Timber Point? Thinking about going to see it. Also, if anyone had any price ideas it'd be greatly appreciated.

love the view from the outside and the outside patio area, didn't love the inside for a few reasons: 1) low basement like ceiling, 2) dance floor in the corner 3) Tiny, tiny bar inside-guests would have to go to the bar outside.

Would have to agree.

Also i didn't like the rain backup plan for the ceremony was on the dance floor. but if you're getting married at a church it would have no bearing.

Second this!
Ultimately the reason we didn't go here, but the rain plan is for the ceremony on the dance floor.

The day of the week and season I was looking was only $65 per person though. Hard deal to beat.

Mansion at Timber Point

It's definitely worth looking at. My brother and FSIL are having their wedding there. I personally wasn't a fan of the dance floor having a wall on two sides of it, but otherwise it's a nice place. BEAUTIFUL outdoor patio!

Mansion at Timber Point

I went to a wedding there in October of last year and it was very nice. The food was good but I do agree that the inside bar in the reception area is small if that matters to you. They also only had Bud or Coors Light for a beer selection. It was cold so they had the cocktail hour inside which had a small seperate entrance but I would say at least half the people walked through the main doors which had you walk through the reception room. The outside area is beautiful though and if you are going to get married in the warmer months, it would definitely be worth looking at.

Re: Mansion at Timber Point

My husband and I got married at The Mansion at Timber Point on April 14, 2012. We were so happy with everything! We had our ceremony and reception at Timber Point. We had 160 guests.

Since we got married in April, we were concern about the weather as well. April weather in New York is very unpredictable. I definitely was praying for a sunny and fairly warm day. I had my reservations about getting married inside, since the grounds there are so beautiful. But, my husband assured me it would be great inside or outside. Plus, we had the option of getting a tent, just in case I still want the ceremony outside. Thankfully we had beautiful weather that day.

The dance floor is awkwardly shaped. The dance floor did bother me, but to tell you the truth on my wedding day - I did not even think about it. The pictures from the dance floor, looked great as well. Everyone was on the dance floor dancing and it did not bother any of our guests either.

The main bar is small. It was a concern of ours since our guests do love to party. We opted for a second bar, and it turned out well. Some of our guests loved the second bar since it was quieter and they were able to hear themselves talk. Also, keep in mind they do have servers who can also take your guest orders. Our wedding guest were raving about how attentive the servers were at Timber Point!

We were so happy about our choice! We had a great price for a Saturday night - thank Neal!, the staff was very attentive and helpful - thanks Jason!, food was great, and the place is beautiful! We were happy, our guests were happy, even relatives from France were happy! We made an great choice with Timber Point!

Mansion at Timber Point

First, it is a very nice place and the staff is amazing, but it's not what I was looking for so I think it all depends on the type of vibe you are looking for. I didn't like that guests could possibly walk through the main door and right into the reception room. If they walk in the cocktail hour room it's a side entrance that really doesn't make sense. Also, if the ceremony is on the dance floor they don't have a curtain or wall up to hide the tables as other venues do. Those were the main items I did not like. I was quoted $99pp ++ for a Saturday in October. The price seemed negotiable and there were many upgrades as well. Good luck!!

That's crazy that you got married before you even got engaged.

I am getting married there in April 2013. Let me tell you, Jason is AMAZING!!!!!!! He is putting up with me and all my worries, concerns and weird requests like they are nothing. While the low ceilings are a little of a bother for me, the pricing I got for a Sunday twilight is unbeatable!!!!! and with everything that they are letting me do, I have absolutely NO questions about if it was the right choice!!!

Mansion at Timber Point

We looked at Timber Point a few months ago. We decided against it. While we were there they told us that they have renovations planned that would change the flooring in the main room. It will be wood, which will allow for some flexibility in the dance floor placement.
