Mansion at West Sayville

Hello everyone!

The fiance and I may have finally picked our wedding venue, the Mansion at West Sayville. We haven't booked yet, but I think we might this week - before that I thought I'd pop in here and see if anyone has had any experience with this venue as either a bride or a wedding guest? I tried searching the site and came up empty but if there is a thread somewhere talking about this spot please feel free to point me in the right direction.

Thanks! I'm so excited - now that we've gotten to this stage it's finally starting to feel real!

My cousin is getting married there in July! No problems so far! We're excited for her wedding! I'll tell her to check the boards :)

Im getting married there this october. So far so good with them, Steve is great and will answer any question/email right away. The place is gorgeous and I've had a few friends attend a wedding/showers there and loved it. We did our tasting a couple of months ago and the food was sooo good! Its just different than all the big long island venues that youre used to seeing and thats what we loved about it. good luck! let me know if you need anything =]

We are getting married there November 2016! No problems so far, we love the feel of the venue and Steve is really nice. I've heard nothing but positive things from the few family members that have been there and from vendors as well that we have signed on with. Hooray for another West Sayville bride! :)

Thanks all - really glad to have found some other brides who will be using this venue! We have our food tasting this Saturday and if we like it, I'm pretty sure we're going to book that day. Can't wait to get this locked down so we can start thinking about the fun stuff!

MissRach429 and brirose18 - Are you using their recommended DJ? We're debating whether or not we even want to hire one, but if we do I'd like to know if their people are good.

We are using Barattini for DJ. We saw Just for the Record at the showcase in January and I just wasn't crazy about the MC. I found him to be very annoying and over the top which is what we did not want. My fiancé and I just totally clicked with the guys at Barattini. They are familiar with the venue and explained how they set their equipment up to fit the room, I am very confident that they will do a great job. :) our second choice was Tommys Tunes for the same reason, really gave us a good feeling that they knew West Sayville and could keep the party going.

I've seen quite a few people talk about Barattini on the forums and everyone seems to love them; like you said, i really don't want an over-the-top MC and I don't want to try and force a big dance-party rager (many of my guests are not the dancing-type and our wedding is on the small side to begin with) so if they're willing and able to do that I'd be inclined to talk with them. If you don't mind me asking, what was their pricing like?
