hey girls...i need your help...i need opinons on mansion style (multiple food stations in multiple rooms at dinner) versus tradtional sit down dinners (option 1 being all in one room dinner/dancing and option 2 being dinner in 1-2 adjoining rooms and dancing in another)...
some people have indicated to me that mansion style is very unique and a different spin on things...while others indicate the older folks at the wedding may feel 'lost' without a home base (aka table to retreat to)...both places are well known for food and the sites are gorgeous...prices are all about the same at the end of the day...soooo....what do you think??

Re: Mansion Style Weddings
I think it depends on the number of guests and the makeup. We did a traditional wedding at De Seversky with dinner and dancing all in the same room. We had 125 guests. It was perfect!

IMO, I kinda like the feeling of everything being in one room.
I've never been to a wedding where different parts of the wedding was in different rooms, but it depends on your personality! In the end, if it's something that you and FH want and it matches the style that you are going for then do it! I think ppl are smart enough to figure out the grand scheme of things

it definitely depends on the number of guests you'll be having. we chose to have traditional (dinner/dancing in the same room). with mansion style, i love the idea of having guests wander around the house and finding rooms on their own. something about that really makes it feel like it could be a house party in the 1920s. but i would be worried about everyone being seperated (college friends in one room, coworkers in another, etc). i also enjoy the idea of dinner seperated from dancing - very formal feeling. personally, we loved the ballroom so much at de seversky we wanted to make sure we spent enough time in it. and i also want to make sure our guests do enough dancing and don't seperate themselves much from everyone else.

I like it all in the same room b/c u are seeing everyone and they dont have to go to another room to get something to eat. I like the whole sitting down dinner too its much better for your guests and they dont have to carry multiple plates of foods..which can be a pain in the neck
