Many Invite Questions for those who have ordered...
1. How far in advance is the 'reply requested' date from your wedding date?
2. How many more invites did you order than your 'guest list' - I'm thinking of getting 30 more because I haven't included work, his work or his mother's b list.
3. How long does hand calligraphy usually take?
4. Does anyone have any better ways of saying the following? We want all names to be on the invite but also convey that all three are inviting:
Together with our parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bride and Mrs. Groom we, BRIDE and Groom request the honour of your presence as we exchange marriage vows on Saturday, the twenty-fifth of March, two thousand and six at 3 o'clock in the afternoon Church Address City, State
I think that's it for now. TIA!

THere are several differnt options that would fit what you want to say

1. I would say 4-6 weeks, definitely 6 if you have a pretty big 'B' list
2. Again depending on your 'B' list, I would say have 25 extra
3. No idea. From what other girls tell me 1-2 weeks
4. sounds perfect to me!

1. How far in advance is the 'reply requested' date from your wedding date? A: I made it one month before so today is actually the RSVP date. I would suggest making it a month before to give time for stragglers. I have been 2-3 weeks before as well for the reply date.
2. How many more invites did you order than your 'guest list' - I'm thinking of getting 30 more because I haven't included work, his work or his mother's b list? A: Mine were handmade and I paid per invite so I only got an additional 10 invites in case I needed any extras. We had no B list.
3. How long does hand calligraphy usually take? A: My hand calligraphy took around 2 weeks. We use Joanne Insinga from Fine Calligraphy. She was awesome. Let me know if you want pics.
4. Does anyone have any better ways of saying the following? We want all names to be on the invite but also convey that all three are inviting:
How about:
Leese Last name daughter of Mom and Dad and FH name son of his Mom and Dad's name request the honor of your presence...blah blah blah
Shows equal respect in that all are inviting. What do you think?

I needed 217 invites, we ordered 250 invites and 242 invites actually went in the mail.
Our rsvp date is October 24th
We wanted all our parents names on the invite as well, my parents are divorced so we worded it like so:
John Smith Jane Smith Jack and Jill Doe would be honored to share with you the joyous occasion of the marriage of their children
FallBride Smith and FallGroom Doe
My FFIL printed all the envelopes for me

Our RSVP date is October 3rd for an October 29th wedding.
I ordered 20 extra invites.
Our calligrapher took about 5 days to do 185 invites.

PS: but we asked the calligrapher to rush because the invites went out about a week late.

Re: Many Invite Questions for those who have ordered...
We needed about 100 and ordered 125 (they just came in today as a matter of fact!)
Go to www.verseit.com for suggested wordings, it is a very helpful site.
Our wedding is 11/27 adn we used 10/25 as our RSVP date.
As for calligraphy, we decided to use transparant labels and run them trhough the computer using a calligraphy font. Its easy, almost impossible to notice and saves a few hundred $$$.

Re: Many Invite Questions for those who have ordered...
our wedding is 11/4, we requested replies by 9/30. we had calligraphy done by hand, it took about 3 weeks, could have been faster if i asked, but we weren't in a rush. we ordered 125 invites and ended up needing 122. it worked out okay, because they threw in a few extra. when we ordered the 125, we thougth we only needed 110 and then at the end there were more people to invite than we realized.

Re: Many Invite Questions for those who have ordered...
one thing - the invites come in sets of 25, but the company I used (William Arthur) gave us 5-6 extras of everything. I am not sure if other companies do that too. Just know that if you need more and want an extra 25 or 50 later on, it will cost you almost as much as your original order so look at your lists carefully and order some extras.
