Manzanita Trees

I really want to have manzanita trees as my centerpieces at the wedding but I hear they can be kinda pricy. I was wondering if anyone is having them and can tell me around what they are costing? I was also thinking of maybe DIYing it, is that crazy? I want them for half of my tables

I was going to order them from blooms and branches and put them together, it doesnt look that hard but those could be famous last words

You could always order them and have your florist put them together.

I didnt think a florist would do that, that's a good idea

Just so you know I saw a manzanita tree centerpiece at an expo and they wanted $125 a centerpiece! I've figured it out and you can DIY for under $30

here are my CPs, I wanted manzanita too, and my florist (Flower Barn) did these for us. They came out AMAZING and I love the look they gave the room. I believe that ours were around $150 per CP, but I also had him add some orchids to give it some contrast.

Thats what I figured but I dont know if I want to stress myself close to the wedding with doing a project like that and then transporting them!

Re: Manzanita Trees

I just started putting mine together. They are sitting in my living room setting in. It does take some work, but I am doing mine now so I won't have to worry much close to my day (7 months to go!). In total I spent $40 per CP. I bought my branches off of ebay from a seller (I can give you the info). I also spray painted mine (this took the longest) But I LOVE the way they are coming out (I did two so far). FM if you want info.

These are my CP and they were $95 per...and if we returned them our florist would have given money back..but everyone wanted to take them and they all went!

I wanted the trees also and when I priced them out at 6 different florists they ranged from $175-$250...I ended up getting something I found that I liked better..but those are the quotes I got. FM if you want the names of the florists I went to.

I am really thinking of doing them by myself, I am going to probably test it out this summer and see how it looks. This way I will still have time to order something if I need to.

Re: Manzanita Trees

I did some for my best friends wedding in October and they ended up being more expensive then I thought but still cheaper then going through a florist. I bought my branches through Ebay; crystals through save-on-crafts.com, same with candles and I found vases/glass rocks at local craft shops. My friend wanted dimension to her wedding so we did manzanita branches on half the tables and then floating candle centerpieces on the other half. We tied it all together by putting persimmon orchids on the trees and in the floating candle vases. In all, we spent about $550 for 24 tables. Pictures/reselling here:

it looked so much prettier in person! oh, and a professional wedding decorator who was doing a wedding the next day was stunned by the decor - she said the centerpieces were prettier than all the pieces she had in her collection. So, save the money if you can. :)

You can also find them in NYC at the flower market or at a store called Dry Nature, which has amazing pieces. Plus, if you get them locally you wont have to pay for shipping!
