This is the 2nd time Mapquest has given me wrong directions! Luckily I have sense of direction myself that I found the place I was looking for on my own.
Has this ever happened to anyone else?

they're all screwed up sometimes. but just think of the world we lived in before the days of mapquest and yahoo maps

YES!!!! I was sooo annoyed!
They gave me directions once that included streets that simply DID NOT EXIST!!! I was driving to Connecticut to go to a wake for a family friend and wound up entirely lost!
I've since gotten a car with a navigation ystem, which is a lot more reliable!
I've been told, though, that Yahoo is better than Mapquest

Really?!? I swear by mapquest, they have never given me any problems. Sorry to hear. FH uses Yahoo, he also says it is better.

Same for me - I like mapquest...FH hates it and swears by Yahoo maps.

I've never used mapquest, I always used MSN maps till I went to brooklyn once and got totally lost. Now I use Yahoo and have never has a problem yet.

Mapquest told me to turn right but I turned left (had a feeling) and I was right!

I have two things I hate about Mapquest... #1.) When my Fw and I were going to look at the Thatched Cottage, the directions given were basically like this --
Get on Northern Blvd. Change on 106 Make a right make a left Get on 110 Blah blah blah and finally... Stay on Northern Blvd
#2. Went to PA for irsta nniversary of our year together.. Had these directions
Stay on Germantown Pike Get on Germantown Pike West Get on Germantown Pike East
Try not to use them, to me.. they are horrible and they try everyone's patience BIG time!

Yeah I got wrong directions twice from them....and one they got me real lost. We have been using Expedia.com and so far so good.

I've found the best to be MSN maps and directions.
With Mapquest, I was on a work project and looking for an oil tank farm, and it mapped me right to someone private residence!

mapquest has been good to me but BIL likes Microsoft Roads & Trips or something like that. He takes it on his laptop, since it's software, on his tours.

I've had mixed results from Mapquest, which I thought was the same as Yahoo.
They definitely don't give you the quickest route, just the most direct one.
All info from them definitely has to be taken with a grain of salt.

The first clue I had that mapquest might not be the best, is when it tells me to go up to front street and make a LEFT on hempstead tpke...HELLO you CANT turn left there!!
