I am not doing florists just yet. I want to get the weight of the e-party off my shoulders. I swear its like planning a wedding. Thank goodness we are having a long engagement. I will start trying dresses at our one year mark. Which is in about 34 days from tomorrow. I cannot believe it myself... I look at the countdown from the home page of LIW everyday and am memsmerized (sp?) at how time has flown!
We have to book the DJ and my mom has to book the band. If the DJ that we are using for the eparty does well, we are going to book him right away. Then the tuxes, like you, invites I know what I want I just have to find a vendor that can do them inexpensively. Favors, BP gifts... the list never ends...OH ya the girls dresses. When will you start looking into those?

Re: MARCH 2004
We are going to******this weekend and Colonial this week, they are going to pull out my sisters stuff from her wedding, so hopefully they can give me the same price or just about and give me ideas. I took one of my BM with me to look at dresses and then the rest of the BM to try it on, and all we have to do is order them in June. If you are using Bellarino, they give you a discount on your invitations. We really do not have much else to do, but to order the table # things that we want to do that is different , we are thinking something along the lines of picture frames on each table with the table# in it, we know someone who makes unique frames, my FBIL's girlfriend, and then we have to order the chcolate bars, I have to get my shoes, veil , and crinilon, pick out the tuxes and order them , and that is about it. We used last year to do alot of things , so all we have to do is concentrate on getting the house in order.

Re: MARCH 2004
You are ahead of me. This year is going to be hectic for me. Plus towards the end of the year I want to start studying for the GMATs. I don't know how some ladies do it. I applaud them: specifically Marcela1654 and Rob-luvs-me. I know I could not handle wedding planning, work, my social life, family AND studying and going to classes all in one swoop. You ladies give me inspiration to do it later on once the wedding planning is over.

Re: MARCH 2004
That is why I am so glad that I am done with graduate school, there is no way I would be able to plan a wedding while going to school.(On top of that I had to write a thesis!) I went straight thru to graduate school, and the job market is so bad, I am still in my old job.(UGH!) Went to ****** this weekend, going to Colonial this week. I will let you know the outcome if you are curious how it went. We are meeting again with the rabbi this week, and I am picking up the Jewish wedding contract this week, it came in ahead of time. Still in search of a veil, I never thought it was going to be so hard to fine what I like!!! Did u start to look yet?

Re: MARCH 2004
I am going to Colonial this week, my sister used them for her wedding and she was very happy, They are a well known florist and if you tell them you are in a budget , they do work with you. I was not to impressed with the other place we looked at, (You know which one do not want to mention it incase they look at these boards) I felt pessured into putting money down and on what kind of flowers I want for thr wedding, the display pieces were not looking to good, I know that they were out becuase they were busy, but I did not feel like I got the individual attention I needed and the salesperson was basically deceiding for me what I want in my bouquet! I have my dress, I was not trying to find it, and went to go look and ended up walking out with it. Got to go run to work , I have a terrible cold, not looking forward to going! UGH!

Re: MARCH 2004
Originally I liked Black Magic roses, but not sure, now I am thinking maybe white roses, calla lillies and some sort of a soft color flower in my bouquet. I def. want a cascading bouquet. MY MOH and acting mom of the bride, my sister, is going to have mini calla lilllies in her bouquet. My BM I think will have some sort of light colored roses, not sure yet. We are going to Colonial tonight, actually looking forward to going there because they have good stuff, and my sister used them before. The place does not seem like a wedding mill like some of the other florists I have been to.

Re: MARCH 2004
We went to Colonial Florist yesterday, we r def. using them. They were so nice and accomadating, and worked within our budget. I am going to have stephanotis, candy bianca roses, mini callalillies , etc in my bouquet. They took a lot of time explaining and showing us flowers and the flowers they did not have they will get in and make a sample for us. I told them what I liked and what kind of wedding we were having and they told me about flowers and told us if we do not like something in the sample they will get another type of flower until I was happy. I highly recommend them.

Re: MARCH 2004
I think they will do whatever you want, but they do like to have you have an open mind when discussing things with them with ideas. My friend used them for her wedding and she had candles. They explanined it to me by saying they are in these halls all the time, so they know what works best with the room, they will do whatever you want but to keep an open mind when tossing ideas out to you.
