March brides - Dress suggestions?

March brides - Dress suggestions?

Hello all,

I am getting married in March 2003, and have yet to begin looking at dresses.

My dilemma: I have been told by 'wedding meddlers' that I CANNOT wear a sleeveless dress in March. This ***** b/c we are having our wedding at Timber Point and they have a huge fireplace -- and with 175 people, it will be rather warm in there, and right now I am hung up on the sleeveless dress idea.

I am not object to partial sleeves but I don't want my arms to look chubby. I do not have any tone to my arms.

Can anyone recommend some styles and your opinion on what a bride 'should' be wearing? Where to go on the South Shore of LI would be helpful too! I am totally clueless.

TIA,
willow

I think you can wear any type of dress you want. Long sleeve, cap sleeves, sheer sleeves, spagetti straps, strapless, etc, regardless of the time of year. Get what ever makes you feel beautiful when you put it on.

I am not too familiar with the salons on the south shore, but I heard good things about Lillettes in Baldwin.

Good luck!!

I am getting married April 5...and am wearing sleeves. I really didn't care what anyone said. I wanted to feel good all day and since I hate my upper arms I went with sleeves. I say wear what makes you comfortable. I knew if I didnt have sleeves I would be worried about my arms all day. Do what YOU want...it is YOUR day!

ps-I had a hard time finding dresses with sleeves..so the dress I bought doesn't have sleeves but they will be added by the bridal store. Good Luck

I am also getting married in March and I am not basing my dress options on the time of year or any of that. Just what I like. These day ANYTHING GOES !
In my hall there is also a fireplace, but if the weather is really nice I doubt it will be on.

So far I have narrowed down my wedding dress down to 4 dresses. one is strapeless, one is cap sleeves, one is spagetti and one is 3/4 sleeves. I will pick the one that I looked best and just love the best.

Pick what you like dont worry about anybody else?

What are you looking for?

good luck

As long as you are happy with your dress and you look beautiful (you will anyway ) that is all that matters-sleeves or no sleeves.
The dress that I am in love with is sleeveless and even if it may be chilly outside, FH can always let me borrow his jacket! I know for myself, I sweat at the sight of sun so there is no way I could have anything on my shoulders with a huge dress on. Plus my nerves will be higher than normal so that is another reason for the sleeveless gown. Whatever your decision you will look great!

My suggestions!
Get whatever makes you feel beautiful, you will know when you try it on!

And...

Angel Bridals, Angel Bridals, Angel Bridals

They are THE BEST.
Main street in East Islip.
Worth the trip from anywhere. My dress arrived in 2 1/2 weeks and the owners are the sweetest ladies. Probably the best experience I had in all my planning.
Good luck

PS My dress is sleeveless too! (End of Sept.)

one of my good friends got married in December and she wore strapless. It looked great.

Wear whatever you want - you're not going to be cold. If you love strapless, go with strapless.

I had 'wedding meddlers' tell me I HAD to have a french manicure or something equally pale on my hands and toes. I proved them wrong - I went with a dark berry color and it looked great.

I got my dress at Paradise Bridals in Patchogue - I worked with Donna and she was great. I didn't actually find my dress there but they were able to order it for me for much less.

nowadays it doesn't matter, you can wear any style dress in any month, my friend wore strapless in march.
whatever you like is what you should wear!
