Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a great Mariachi band for my cocktail hour to honor my Mexican heritiage (half Puerto Rican/Mexican) and was wondering if anyone could recommend one.

I'm with you sister

Most Mariachi Bands do not have the insurance coverage required by your RH. The only one I have found thus far is Stan Wiest, he's a vendor here....he has a contract Mariachi band. They sound amazing, I have a CD sample.

That said, I haven't booked yet because his deposit requirement is somewhat high and I have other priorities now...chances are we will book next month and have them perform during dinner as a dinner show.

I've heard that another option is to obtain 1 day insurance for the group...sounds like too much paperwork for me.

I also found Stan online but he did not disclose a price quote. How much are they asking for? I reside in Staten Island and found one entertainment company asking for $900/hour. I also found Mariachi Tapatio De Alvaro Paulino online and they told me to contact them in Jan. 09 for quote/booking. I wanted them to play during the ceremony as well but we will see.

Here's what Mariachi Tapatio quoted me:
$650 1 hour
$950 2 hours

Again, they are uninsured and WM requires insurance.

Another option:
Mariachi Citlalli
$650 first hour, $300 additional....again insurance!
