Has anyone been to the Bridal Atelier in NYC - I'm hoping to make an appointment there and want to know what to expect. Any advice is appreciated. Many thanks.

I went there. It was the first place I went so I knew I wouldn't be ready to make a decision but they carry a lot of interesting gowns and a good selection of designers. I didn't feel rushed or pressured at all during my appointment, and they wrote out all of the info for the dresses I liked so that I would have for future reference. It says on the website to make sure the gowns are in your price range. . . but, of course, there are no prices. When I call, should I ask them the range of gowns they carry? Obviously they are high end, I understand that much, but if they start at 10K, that is out of my league. . .

I think there is definitely a range as far as prices at Mark Ingram goes, but I would try to know what you are looking for, b/c the prices definitely get really high there. I tried on a bunch of oscar de la renta and monique lhullhier which ranged anywhere from $4k to $9k, but they do carry Angel Sanchez and a bunch of other designers that are a little less pricey. But, if you are looking for a lot less expensive (like under $3k) it might not have the biggest selection....

My friend's cousin got her gown there and had a wonderful experience. Also I know someone else who went there to try on gowns and also raved about it.
Go for it! I'm all about the intimate upscale bridal boutiques-
You should go to Wedding Salon of Manhasset/Vera Wang Manhasset also.

I went to Mark Ingram for a regular appointment and for the sample sale and really loved it there. its more of a boutique compared to some of the larger bridal stores (i.e., kleinfelds) and they have alot of high end designers (i.e. kelly pacham, jenny lee, angel sanchez). the consultants are extremely nice and i even met Mark (who ALWAYS looks sharp). i am sure you will have a great experience!
