Mark Kauffman Photographer

Hi,
I booked Mark Kauffman for my wedding and now I keep hearing bad things about him. My fi did not like him but loved his work, I loved his work and that was all that mattered to me. We also have Pedro and I liked him a lot. Please let me know if you have used Mark and what you thought of him

you can't please everybody all of the time. I have heard bad things about almost every vendor on Long Island Weddings in the last year and a half.
I will let you know how he is in 88 days!

Honestly I have only heard bad things about him from people who couldn't afford his work BUT never actually used his services. I haven't heard anything negative from anyone who actually booked and used him/his studio so I wouldn't worry.

Some people say that they don't get along with his personality but I think that is just subjective. He has an artistic personality.

I have already had my e-shots taken and he was amazing. So far I have been very happy and I am not worried about how my photos will come out.

You can FM a couple of people who used his studio and ask to see some proofs OR do a search of their screen name -

Those are just a few off the top of my head.

Honestly there are people who like and dislike ALL vendors - I have heard good and bad things about a LOT of the VERY popular vendors - basically it comes down to - if you did your research and if you like what YOU picked. ANY vendor can have a good or bad day - but if you pick someone competent it should hopefully be a GOOD day!

I met with him but elected to use someone else. If you book him, make sure you do your homework regarding the photographer you select, not one he selects for you. IMO some of his photographers are fantastic, but shop around and you may be able to find people just as good at a lower price. It also comes down to personal preference; if you feel comfortable, go for it!

BTW - I can afford his work, but elected not to use his services...

I booked him. If you have concerns I think you should bring them up with Mark so you're not feeling weird about it. He is a very creative guy and his studio does amazing work. Do some searches on here - he has very good references.

As other have already said, not everyone will like every vendor. But if there is a particular thing on your mind I would talk to him about it.

There's no denying his work is amazing. I've never heard anything bad about his pictures. I think the difficulties are personality related.

Some people click, some don't, it's very subjective.

I will be honest, I talked with him several times over the phone and I did not click with him at all. He came off as very arrogant to me and I wasn't willing to work with someone with an attitude. So, we went with someone else.

That said ... I think his work is great, or else I would not have called him in the first place. Like someone said, some people click and some don't. We did not.

Your photos will be fantastic, and that is all that matters. Feel confident in your decision... just make sure you ask tons of questions to get what you want!
