Is anyone out there using Mark and if so, have you had trouble reaching him lately. I have called twice now and left messages for him as I would like to set for our engagement shoot (my days are getting filled) and he hasn't returned my calls. Just wondering if anyone has spoken with him recently.

I'm using him as well for my September wedding. I booked him back in January and I can't remember if he was supposed to call me or if I was to call him to arrange the engagement shoot. Do you remember what he told you???

He told me to call him towards the end of July to set it up. I just want to get a date set since so much of my free time is getting booked up with various things. I am a little annoyed that he hasn't returned my calls. Maybe I should be worried instead of annoyed! I had my FI call today. I don't know what else to do.

How long have you been calling. Maybe he takes a week in the summer for vacation. Not too sure what the explanation could be but I am very curious too! Please keep us posted.

I'm using him also, and I can't remember what he said. My cousin just got her Kaufman wedidng proofs back and they are beatiful!!

Yes, the engagement shoot is included. And yes, his photography is absolutely beautiful. On a different point- After reading all the posts yesterday, I got worried and called him. I was able to speak with him (although he sounded busy). He told me that a week before the wedding, we would get together, take the engagement pictures, and coordinate times for the day. I also recall him saying when we first met in January that we would get together with our photographer, before the wedding, and go to the sites where we want to take pictures and the reception hall. Yesterday, when I asked him about it, he said he doesn't do that. I thought I was crazy until I got home and told my FI. He told me that he did say that way back when. Was anyone else told the same thing???

I believe what we are calling the engagement shoot is actually a practice session a week before the wedding to get you comfortable in front of the camera. I never asked for the photographer to come look at sites for the photos but I do expect to meet my photographer before the wedding. Who is your main photographer? Did Mark say that he doesnt come out to visit sites or doesnt allow you to meet with the main photographer?

Of course this thread is making me paranoid about the whole thing. When I looked at the sample books I liked everyones work so I was ok with Mark assigning a photographer to me. When I inquired about it he said that I could choose the photographer if I wished but it usually works best if he matches personalities. I was told that I would get to meet his choice at the practice session or sooner if I wanted to come out to the office and have a meeting. Since I haven't found many who can tell me about Mark's photographers specifically I haven't done too much since booking him 6 months ago. What about you?

I'm going to wait until about three weeks before and schedule an appointment for the following week. I'll have to ask him if we will be meeting with both photographers. We also booked the fine art photographer so I'll expect him to be there as well. I really am not too concerned with who is the photographer. After seeing the albums in the shop, and the video he sent me, I have nothing but confidence in their work.

I agree with that. I loved the work but most importantly that in all of the albums (and there were many) the bride and groom were all smiles (not fake ones!). Im sure this is a really busy time for Mark but the confusion should be sorted out. I wouldnt want future brides being discouraged either. I've posted a note on the vendor board for Mark to take a look at this thread and respond. By the way - when is your wedding? Im 10/05/02.

I am planning to use Mark as well. I have requested Roy and Lynn as a team. I plan on meeting with both of them prior to signing my contract. Mark has always gotten back to me very quickly and responded to any questions that I have had. Also, I am having an engagement shot months before my wedding so that I can use the photo in our announcement. I think it is up to the bride and groom when they want their engagement or practice session. I am also going to make a list of all of the shots I want during the wedding so nothing is forgotten. I had a friend who used another photographer and they forget to take a lot of important shots.

Michelle: Why did you choose Roy and Lynn?

What 'type' of photographers are they in the Kaufman scale. My package includes one main photographer and one advanced candids. Why did you choose them?

To start, I called Misha as soon as someone alerted me to her concerns. Somehow I did not get her messages and that is the only reason I didn't call back, as I make every attempt to wow you with our personal service (unfortunately as human beings we occasionally fall short of our expectations.) If anyone ever has trouble reaching me, email is a pretty safe bet. Yes we have a 'practice session' before the wedding to get comfortable in front of the camera with your main photographer, An 'engagement' session is always available at no charge any time. Most of the places we've already been to, but if there are any concerns we're always open to what is needed. I find that our spontaneous style adapts easily to virtually everywhere we go. (Actually, I've found myself occasionally getting stale when I know a place too well!) What else? I'm forgetting. Any other concerns please ask privately or on the vendor board, as I don't get over here too much anymore. Please forgive me for any human failings. I put my heart and soul into my work and want only what is best for the people who place their trust in me. Peace, Mark
