marking invitations

marking invitations

I heard people talking about invisible ink pens to mark the response cards or something like that so that if someone doesn't fill out their names we can still know who it is. does anyone know where we can find it and how it works. I tried AC More but knowing what it is exactly I had a hard time describing it TIA

We just wrote each number on the back of the card in the corner with a light gray thin marker. IMO, it's fine for the number to be visible as long as it's neat and small.

Not sure about the invisible pen, but I'm just going to write tiny numbers on the back of the response cards to identify them. Most of my friends have done this and it worked wonders! It's surprising how many people either don't write their entire names or have such bad handwriting that you can't make it out!

I used them. And let me tell you I'm already glad I did. I haven't gotten any back that were w/o names....but I have gotten a couple back that were COMPLETELY illegible. The pen came with the little black light embedded in the cap. I got mine at Lee's Art Shop on 57th btwn 7th and Bdwy. But they do sell them at AC Moore and Michaels....but not all the stores have them because I went to the Michaels by me and they didn't have them but they told me some stores do.

My FMIL just got an invite where the number was written in pen on the back... she said to me, 'do you know what that number means?' and i said, yes, on the guest list, you have a number so if you send the RSVP card back without you rname, they bride knows who you are. she said, oh that is clever, but i cna't believe I'm number 64! lol, Definitely use invisible ink, and you might be able to do a search for it online and find it at a craft store.

i know my story wasn't super relevent, but i thought i'd share.

I didn't do anything - all ready have a regret with that. one response came back Mr. and Mrs. Smith and we invited five Mr. and Mrs. Smiths and they are all from the same zip code so we cna't track who it is. We are just going to wait and figure it out.

So yes mark them - invisible or reg. pen.

Re: marking invitations

When we did my brother's invites we just wrote tiny numbers with pencil inside each rsvp card (they were folded). If you can't find the invisible marker I woud just do it writing small and lightly.

Re: marking invitations

I just wrote it in light purple ink on the back of the card so that folks don't really see it and it blends in with our invitation.

Nope not ghetto- economical

Also most people don't think twice about the numbers unless they really look for them.

The sad thing is all of my family is the first half of our guest list and FH's family is the second half- so they got all the larger numbers..

Re: marking invitations

I'm just writing it in pen. I have my list in alphabetical order, so I'm not worried about people complaining about their numbers...I'll tell them where to go!
