I graduated February and went through the ceremony in June. I think I remember you. We smoked cigarettes outside one summer before a summer course. It was either Blake or a children's lit course. Wow small world!!!! Or was it a Warwick course!!I thought I recognized the name from LMNET. I am in an elementary school in Far Rockaway. Just finished my 4th year.

A small world is right. I wish I knew exactly who you are. Do you have black curly hair??? If so, I definitely remember you! I took children's lit for 2 summers. (children's lit and YA lit)When are you getting married??? And where?? I still use LMNET. It has been my savior many times!! :)My real name is Marni (not a common name - does it ring a bell?)

Hmmmm...how's the program...tough one. The program itself I found to be very helpful but EXTREMELY rigorous. Queens college is known to have one of the most difficult - but also one of the most respected programs when applying for positions. Of course you'll find some teachers who have their faults (and cannot be avoided), but I felt VERY prepared at the end. I find the profession very rewarding and I'm so glad I did it - and completed the course work at Queens. And you CANNOT beat the price either. As for deciding on whether to be elementary, that doesn't matter. What matters is the course work you take. Either you'll go for school or public librarian basically. If you do school, you're certified K-12 anyway. I originally wanted high school, now I love being in elementary. I hope this helps you! If you have any questions please feel free to email me ANY TIME! [email protected]

Okay - parking does suck. I can't lie. But it all depends upon what day you have classes and what time. BUT you will learn the little side streets and know where you will find spots. If interested, I will share this with you. But you could always buy into their parking 'scam', and buy a permit. It's a little expensive (I don't know how much because I refused) but you will usually always find a spot. And ALL of your classes will be in the library building, so there's a lot right next door. As I said before, please email me whenever you'd like....the best of luck to you! And keep us posted with it!! :)

I TOTALLY remember you Elisa. I think we even smoked a few butts together, not just one!! :) What a small world. Congrats to you!!! We have not set a place yet, but we're leaning towards the Stewart Manor CC or the George Washington Manor. How funny you're getting married at the Sands in Atlantic Beach - I live in Long Beach now (lived in Westchester when I went to QC). We were going to look at the Sands in Lido. Did you look at that one? Also, we want to marry in December 2002. My FH and I are on a tight budget (paying for the whole thing ourselves), so we want to keep the cost down per person. Any other suggestions? How are the prices at the Sands?

Hey Marni, yes we are getting married at the Sands Atlantic. We fell in love with it and didn't even look at Lido. Other places we looked at were Russos and Inwood Country club. The price was outragous at Inwood. Russos offered us a good price but would not do a Saturday night ceremony since they are to busy. Being an interfaith couple we needed Saturday night and didn't want a Sunday afternoon. If you wanna do a Sunday definitly check out Russos. The Sands is giving us a good deal for the time of year we are getting married. I didn't want to look at places to far because if the weather in February(even though we are getting buses from Rockaway). Did you look at the Coral House? They do a nice affair and the price is good. I know what you mean about the budget. We got engaged last August and are waiting till February because we are paying for it ourselves as well. Also check out Lynbrook Bridal for your dress. They are right on Sunrise highway and great to work with. Email me at [email protected].Welcome New Vendors
