For those of you who got their marraige license, or those of you who are married, how long did it take to get your license?? Our work schedules are tight and we are trying to figure out if we'll be able to go in the morning before work. Does it take a long time? And what do you need to bring with you? Thanks ladies! YAYYYY! 3 weeks till our big day!!

Re: marraige license question!
We went to the one in Hempstead relatively early and only had to wait about 15 miutes until we were called...then it took about another 30 minutes inside the little room becaue they have to ask you questions and fill out this form and then print it out for you to check. We did attempt to go to an office in Queens first but the line and the wait was ridiculous so we left....so I'd say Hemptead is your best bet. You just have to bring your birth certificates and photo id, money to pay for it (call before to see how much because I think it went up) and you both have to know the town in which you were born (meaning the town of the hospital you were born in). Hope this helps...FM if you have any other questions

Re: marraige license question!
Yep, about 30 minutes.
You need your driver's license or passport, your birth certificate (I think original not a copy) and this was weird, but they required something with your SS# on it. I had my social security card but my FI did not. They accepted his health insurance card because it had his SS#
Good luck!!

My husband and I went to The one in Hempstead, first thing in the morning and it took about 30 mins. The license cost's forty dollars and you need to forms of ID we used our drivers lic, and medical insurance cards. You need to know your parents info including maiden names and where they were born including where you were born.

Re: marraige license question!
they were strict about having two forms of ID for each of us. drivers license & either birth certificate OR passport. make sure you have something. you also need to get it at least 24 hours before you are getting married. there was a couple there at 2:00 on friday and their wedding was at 2:30 on saturday- they were cutting it close!!

Re: marraige license question!
Does anyone know where I can get one near Great Neck? I think there is an office in Manhasset, but I don't know how to find it--I'll go by there on the weekend, but are there any offices open late? Thanks, d
