I was married on 11/3 and I have not gotten my marriage certificate yet. Does anyone know who I can contact. I got the license in NYC since both my fiance and I work in the city. Should I just go to the city clerk to get the Certificate???

Mine took like a month - it got returned to the clerk for some reason by the post office (the address was right - they sent the returned envelope). I am sure the holiday set them back a bit, but I would just call and they check on the status. Mine was sent out like 4 weeks after the wedding, and since I called and knew that, when i didn't have it a week later I called again and was told it was sent back. Just call! Good luck!

Call the clerks office and see if they received it, they will ask for your DHs last name. If they havent received it then call your church or officiant that over saw your ceremony and see if they mailed it. Wait a few days, you will have to go back to the clerks office and get a copy of the license (both of you should NOT have to go to do this) and you will need to take it to the officiant and have them sign it and mail/drop it off at the clerks.
I had to do this being that the church supposedly mailed it and the clerks office never got it.

I got mine while I was away on my honeymoon. I took about a week. I would call to see what the status of it is!

I just called and they said my priest isn't registered with the city of NY clerks office so I have to wait for him to get registered before they will even take the license. I don't know what I have to do now. The clerks office said they would call me back. This is ridiculous!!!!!!

I got married 11/10 my marriage certificate came 11/23 but DMV said it can take up to a month

Ummmmmm you should speak to your priest asap cuz as of right now you're not technically legally married! Also, is there a time limit that the clerk's office will accept the marriage certificate? And how long does it take to get registered? Not to make you worry more, but these are serious questions you should really ask your priest asap. Good luck!

It hasn't been that long. Give it time. Mine took a month to come - just be patient.

Thanks everyone. I called the priest. He sent it in and he got his name updated on the clerks list. I called the clerk and they said that they don't have it. I was on hold with them for 40 minutes while they looked for it. They said they had to check the deceased office to see if it got transfered over there.
I know I just got married but does it really mean I am dead

Keep on them! Give it a week and if they havent received it start going thru the process of getting another license so that you can have the priest sign it again. You only have 60 days otherwise they can NOT give you another license for the same date! I was on day 55 when I found this out and had to get a new copy before the 60 days was up
