My father believes that you have to get your licence in the town/county where you are getting married. I live Suffolk but am getting married in Queens. Where do I go to apply?

You have to apply in the same state that you are getting married in. You can get yours in NYC or in Suffolk County, doesn't matter.

As long as you are in NY state you can get in anywhere in the state.

I'm doing the opposite. Got my license in Queens, marrying in Suffolk. All good!
