You can go to the court house in Kew Gardens, but I hear its always crowded and it is $30. I found this town hall off Exit 25 on the Northern State and its only $25 there.

We went to the town hall in North Hempstead. It took 10 minutes and we paid cash ($25). The judge who is performing our ceremony suggested we go there instead of Kew Gardens Courthouse (he said it would be a more pleasant experience) They even gave us a care package (with tp & other household goodies, very cute). PS the license is only good for 60 days, so plan accordingly
