Marriage license???

If I am getting married on long island, am I allowed to get my marriage license in the city?????
We both live in the city and it would make it so much easier for the both of us because the times dont work with our schedule---no weekends!!!!!!
And where do I go in the city to get the license if I can get it here?
thank you
