Do you have a seperate ceremony for this. Do you bring your witnesses or do you go pay and pick up the license just the bride and groom. I am all confused because my mom says that i have to find a dress for this and my imediate family must go. I thought you just fill out paper work and then pay for it. Does the judge marry you too.

to apply for the license you need proper documentation like license and birth certificate. no need to get dress up, no witnesses... just go to town hall
where ever your ceremony is... before it starts, the officant will take you and a witness to sign, and take your FH and his witness and sign... officant will then mail it off to the state after the ceremony after its offical
make sure when you go to town hall, its within 60 days of you getting married but at least 1 day before you get married.

Thanks I thought it was that way but my mom is making me think that is another ceremony.

nah... some ppl get married like at a justice of the peace (judge) at a town hall or something. that you need witnesses for and to be kinda formal but not too formal. Not that its not comon now, i think it more more popular years ago.
once you set your officant, they will take care of you and your paperwork. just make sure you get license else you anit getting married
