Where do you apply for one, and how early do you go for it?
Thanks!

Re: Marriage License
We just got ours yesterday. We were there 15 minutes before they opened, and we were the first there. It took us about 20 minutes, you needed to fill out a form, they typed it up, you look it over, sign, pay and you're on your way.
We went to Manhasset Town Hall, it was so fast, I was worried we would be there for half the day.

Re: Marriage License
I don't think it matters where you go as long as it's withing the state. And license is only good for 60 days, so for you it's too early yet. I have my calendar marked for 4/26 (my date is June 25th), that's the first day I can go.
u can go to any town hall in the state u're getting married in. u can go anytime between 60 days up to 2 days b4 your wedding.
we went to the town of hempstead. they asked for 2 forms of id and 1 had to be photo. we brought our drivers lisences and passports. it costs $40 in cash, check or money order.
go mid-week if u can. it's very hectic on mon and fri.

Re: Marriage License
When I called Islip they told us we had to bring original birth certificate with the raised seal and driver's license. So you should call your town hall in advance to make sure what ID they want.
Good Luck.

Re: Marriage License
Each town hall has a different requirement so call beforehand and find out what you need to bring. In NYC, all we needed was 1 form of photo id (driver's license or passport) - no birth certificate. you also need a money order although some places might take checks or cash.

I went to Manhasset to and it was totally empty on a Thursday around 11am. I was shocked because I heard stories of how long it took som people.
We had to have our license and birth certificate and it was $40 cash. Typing it up took the longest time and then printing it out.
