Marriage License

Marriage License

Just wondering if you have to wait for it or if you get it when you apply for one.

We got it right when we applied.

I did it on my lunch hour. I cant remember what we had to bring though. I just remember it was fast.

we went to town hall in huntington

ETA - I re read the post. I think they gave us some documentation right then that we had to give to the church, but something official was mailed to us later.

i got a temporary one (which we filled out at the town hall) and then that is given to the priest. he mails it to the town and you get the official one 7-10 days later.

Thanks, I was trying to figure that out cause FI and I are debating when to get it. May is a busy time at my job so I need to take some time off..

Yes, you get the 'license' right away...your 'witnesses' and the officiant must sign them on your wedding day...the officiant sends them in and you'll get a certificate in the mail.
