I think you might have to get it in the county whee the ceremony is being held. (nassau) and within 60 days of the wedding....after that it expires.

Re: Marriage License
i could be very wrong but I don't think it matters though my first guess is it's better to get it in NYC since you're getting married in NY. But I haven't researched this so i'm not 100% sure.

Re: Marriage License
It might be something that you can get in NY if you are getting married in NY. I just figured County because you need to go to the county clerks office.

Re: Marriage License
I think you get your license in the place you are getting married. I would call and ask your city clerk

as long as you get your license in NY state you can use it in any county. All costs vary county to county for the actual license.

Re: Marriage License
This is what we were told by our priest...You have to go to the town you are getting married at. So that would be in LI. For example I am getting married in Bethlehem PA...we have to go there to get our marraige license. He said we might be able to get it from my town in PA, but it might not be valid in Bethlehem. So to be safe I'd do it where your church is?

Re: Marriage License
It has to be in the state that your getting married in so if your getting married in NY it must be from NY but it doesn't matter what town it comes from. As far as I know thats how it works

Re: Marriage License
I asked our Deacon and he wasn't 100% sure. But I found out, it just has to be from the STATE you're getting married in. You can go anywhere in NY to get it.
