I was looking at the NYS website and there it says you need your birth certificate. However, for NYC it doesn't mention needing your birth certificate anywhere. Now I'm confused. Does anyone know if we need our birth certificates to get our marriage license in NYC?

thank you!! i was beginning to go crazy cause of course no one answers the phone at the city clerk's office or responds to emails.
This is the important stuff: You’ll need a money order in the amount of $35 (payable to “City Clerk of New York”), proof of your identity, and proof of your age if you are, or appear to, be under eighteen years old.
Acceptable forms of identification include:
* A valid passport * A driver's license, learner's permit, or non-driver ID * Military ID * U.S. Certificate of Naturalization * U.S. Alien Registration Card * Employment Authorization Card

it's valid for 60 days. we plan on going 30 days prior to the wedding.
