This is a dumb question, but what happens after you get the license? I read that its valid for 60 days, then what? Does the church marrying us validate?
I'm confused

You are getting a license to be married but you are not legally married until an officiant signs the marriage license and files it with the state.

Re: marriage license

The officiant and two witnesses (usually MOH and best man) sign it on the day you get married. Then, the officiant mails it to whoever you're supposed to mail it to (in my case, the Town of Brookhaven since that's where we got it) and then you get an official one in the mail within 2-3 weeks.

HTH!!!
