MARRIAGE LICENSE

What ID did you need to bring? Is a valid drivers license it? Or do we need a birth certificate? Thanks!

You need your drivers license and birth certificate as well as divorce papers if previously married. HTH

depends where you go. In NYC where I went, I only needed a drivers license.

I think some other places like on LI you need the BC as well.

I went to the one in Manhattan -- its down by brooklyn bridge. It was really easy and took like 15 minutes tops!

I'm planning on going to this one as well. What about a passport? Do you need two forms of ID?

Driver's license or passport- we didn't need our birth certificates.

ETA: We went in Queens.

u only need one form of ID. either drivers license or passport is fine.

If you're a born here citizen then you are fine with ID and birth certificate.

But if you're not I would bring a bunch more to be safe.

In my case I had no birth certificate so I brought my naturalized certificate and passport.

My MOH had her birth certificate with a notarized translation and the lady at city hall still gave her crap.

A lot depends on the clerk you get!
