Marriage license

Hey Girls! So I live in Queens and the most convienent place to go get our marriage license is the Queens County Courthouse on Queens Blvd....however it is mayhem and I really dont feel like spending my whole day there....Does anyone know if i can apply for my marriage license in Nassau county even though I'm a NYC resident?? If so which one is the quickest?

I thought that you could apply for a marriage license anywhere in the state when you're getting married. Not sure if it's differernt for city residents though.

I went there for the domestic partnership so FH can be on my insurance. IT wasn't so bad. We went on a Thursday at like 10. We waited maybe 20 min to go in and then once we were in they took us right away. Maybe we just hit it lucky

I would find out when the place opens and get there 30 mins ahead of time, and start waiting on line. I did that 2 weeks ago at the DMV and i only ended up being there for 1 hour (including the 30 min early part)!

My DH and I got our marriage license at the Queens Courthouse. We got there about 15 minutes before it opened on and Friday (I think it opens at 8:30?) There was only 2 or 3 couples in front of us. I think we were out of there within 30 minutes?

i went there last week - its not bad at all. FH and i got there at 8:15 (they open at 8:30). We had one couple on line in front of us. Fill out the form online and bring the confirmation number with you...this way you save time and dont have to do the paperwork there. We were out of there by 8:50

I will warn you though...we walked around the entire courthouse (outside) until someone told us where to stand. You do not go in by the front entrance - you go in on the side....where it says 'summons' (no not jury summons, just summons). supposedly there is a sign for marriage licenses but it was not out the morning i went there!
