Marriage License

Hey Girls! So I live in Queens and the most convienent place to go get our marriage license is the Queens County Courthouse on Queens Blvd....however it is mayhem and I really dont feel like spending my whole day there....Does anyone know if i can apply for my marriage license in Nassau county even though I'm a NYC resident?? If so which one is the quickest?

You just have to get the license in the state you are getting married in. I live in NJ and got married in NY - so we had to get our marriage license in NY. HTH!!

oh that makes life easier then!! LOL. I don't know i'm just assuming Long Island might be quicker than Queens!

We got ours at the Town Clerk office in Hempstead, L.I. It only took about 15 minutes.

You get the license that same day right?

We are planning on going on the Monday before the wedding, that shouldn't be an issue right?

Also, we are planning on bringing: Driver's license, Passport and Social Security card.

Don't have the birth certificate.

Thats fine right?
(although the website says to bring the birth certificate)

You get the license the same day. At the wedding, the person who is the officiant signs it, along with your witnesses and it gets mailed back.

We used our birth certificates & driver's licenses as our forms of ID.

I would call the town clerk office and check to see if the ID you have can be used, just in case!
