Re: Marriage License
this came off of the Town of Babylon's website - Make sure you check the hours they issue marriage licenses - TOB stops at about 3:30.
Each person must present at least one form of identification from each section.
Section I -
Current United States Driver’s License or Non-Driver’s License
Valid Passport Book or Passport Card
Current Military Photo ID
Some immigration papers (we reserve the right to use our own discretion)
Section II -
State issued Birth Certificate with raised seal (if the birth certificate is written in a language other than English, an official translation must be presented with the original. The translation must be on company letterhead, certified, notarized and translated word for word)
Original Naturalization Certificate
Early church or school records (baptismal or school admission records are acceptable only if these records include birth certificate information and are accompanied by an affidavit on the letterhead of the church or school stating that a birth record does not exist)
Other requirements -
All applicants under the age of 21 must present a birth certificate with a raised seal
Marriage License Fee: $40.00 cash
No other identification will be accepted
If either person was previously married, the certified judgment of divorce must be presented with the seal of the court affixed for all prior marriages
If either person is widow or widower, a certified copy of the Death Certificate of the deceased spouse must be presented
A certified translation must be presented with all documents not in English
A marriage license issued by the Town of Babylon is valid anywhere in New York State. The first 24 hours after issuance of the license is a waiting period in which you cannot get married without a court ordered waiver. The marriage license is valid for 60 days after the date of issue. A marriage license may be obtained from any Town or City Clerk.
Below is a listing of other local issuing clerks (call for hours of service)

Re: Marriage License
Check the website for your specific town of residence though because I had to go to the Town of Huntington and you have to reside in that town for them to give you the license. They all have the info on their website and also if you call.

Interesting, because you are susposed to be able to go to any town hall in NYS to get a license as per TOB's clerk. We were having trouble making it in by 3:30, and I live up by Binghamton.

Marriage License
I had to take off to do it because of the hours. We got ours in Queens, I think anywhere in NYS is fine since it's a state license. It's good for 60 days.

Re: Marriage License
We got ours and we had to show original birth certificates, if you were married before, the original divorce decree, and our driver's license. It's not good for the first 24 hours but it expires in 60 days

If you click the link below it has all the info for Town of Brookhaven Clerks Office which lists requirements and an application is attached if you wanted to go there.

Oh interesting! Maybe the person I spoke to had it wrong. I knew you could go to any other town though, I thought it was just them!
