Someone said on the BHB that you have to wait 3 days to pick up your marriage license. Is this true. I know in NYC they give it to you right away. Also, if I get the license in LI and I am a resident a Queens does it matter? Its just for NY state right.

whoever said that was utterly wrong.
your marriage license is issued immediately--however it is not VALID until 24 hours after issuance. meaning the marriage ceremony should not be performed for 24 hours and after that it can be signed by an officiant and mailed back to the town and then later, your marriage certificate is issued.
maybe they meant that they got their marriage certificate 3 days after the license was mailed in.
