Does anyone have a web site that lists what documents are acceptable? I looked up town of Hempstead, but they didn't have any details??

I got mine at Hempstead
We brought photo Id, (driver license) and our original birth certificate with the raised seal.
It costs $25.00.
Also know your moms maiden name & your place of birth & SS #.
Also decide beforehand if you will take FH's last name.

Do you happen to know if you have to have the birth certificate or can you use all the other documents instead? I was born out of the country and just realized I would have to order it!!! OOOPS!!

We had to have the BC & DL.
Call the town of Hempstead tomorrow to ask for sure

I went to Smithtown town clerk- we needed driver's license and something with our social security #- ss card, insurance card, etc. No birth certificate.

FH and I got ours yesterday in Hempstead and we used our passports and our drivers licenses as proof..
