my wedding is September 4th..... Should I go Monday to apply for our marriage license? How long after you apply do you receive it? Am I cutting this close? I'm so bad with wedding planning timeline....

You get the license right away. They do it with you.
After you get married, the officiant will mail it. You will get the original in the mail.
ETA: the license if valide for 60 days from the date it is issued. You must wait a minimum of 24 hours after it is issued to get married.

You do it 30-60 days before. It was really quick and you get it right then and there. We went three weeks before our wedding.
