Marriage License question

Marriage License question

How long before our wedding date do we apply for a marriage license? HOw long are they valid for? I hear they are only good for 40 days..

Where exactly do we get them from?

Hey Marilyn- you actually have 60 days. We're going at the end of the month. Here is a link with some good info.

You cannot apply until at most 60 days from your wedding. Also, I believe you need to wait 48 hours before it is valid.

i am pretty sure the license is valid for 30 days and that you need it to change your name. so if you're changing your name i wouldn't get it 60 days before b/c you want to give yourself enough time after your HM to get that done.

i think we're gonna get ours a month before the wedding.

you should be fine. it only takes a little while depending on the line.
