Friday FH and I are going to get our marriage license, but I don't know where to go for it. I currently live in the town of Oyster Bay, FH in the town of North Hempstead. We are getting married in Suffolk County and afterward are going to be living in the Town of Hempstead.
Which town/county do we go to?

I think you can go anywhere...
You're applying for a New York STATE license - so you could pretty much go anywhere I think....

Manhasset is nice, its very quiet and your in and out very quick, i think the same for oyster bay,

You can go anywhere.
We went to the Town of Hempstead first thing in the morning and it was empty. In and out in 15 minutes.

We live upstate but getting married on LI. We went to a town hall here and its fine it only has to be from NY.

Thanks for the info. I was pretty sure you could do that but last night FH put doubts in my head. I just didn't want to end up wasting time since we are taking a half day in order to do it.
