Do we have to go to the town hall in a certain town?? Technically my address is still my moms house in N Babylon, but I am living with him in Queens right now.
Where do we go for the marriage license? Someone told me its the town you get married in, (ceremony location?) or the town you live in.
How does this work?

can be any town.... as long as its for the state that you're getting married in... so get it at whatever town hall/city hall is convenient for you

I was looking at the one in Babylon, and it said its only $40.
$130 doesn't seem right.

So we live in the Bronx.....does this mean I can get our marriage license in Islip, where FH's mother lives....so I don't have to go down to lower Manhattan and deal with the 'lovely' marriage license division down there???

we got ours at town hall up state where we live in fishkill NY they told us it did not matter what town we got it in only that we were getting married in NY and it was a NY license !! it was 40.00!!

yes you can go anywhere in the state of ny to get the license since it is a ny state marriage license.

you can go wherever its convenient for you as long as its for the state you're getting married in... and its $40 i believe... slightly less in the city i think

If you marry in Babylon they will process your paperwork the same day you hand it in. Otherwise you have to wait.

i think ours was $40 or $35. We went to the one in queens.. even though we live in bklyn. it doesnt matter which one you go to really good luck!!!!!!!!!!
