Marriage license question

Did the girls who already got their marriage license need their birth certificate??

The lady at the county office just told me that since I am not a minor, I do not need a proof of age and that a passport or driver's license will do. But the NY state website states that I do need a proof of age!

Update on previous post: it would take me 6-8 months to get my Russian birth certificate so that is not happening by the wedding!

major freak out

Re: Marriage license question

i would just call your local town hall and ask... prob the quickest and most accurate answer you'll get

ETA: i see you did that already... just trust them... if anything, i think if you get it in the 5 boroughs, you only need your drivers license

Re: Marriage license question

this is from the marriage license website...

You need 2 forms of ID, one from #1 and one from #2

1) Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate OR Naturalization record (no copies)

AND

2) Drivers License, Passport OR greencard.

I know that in any of the 5 boroughs you just need your driver's license, no b.c. Nassau and Suffolk you need the b.c as well. HTH!

Yeah I saw all this but the lady said she processes marriage licenses and this is definitely wrong and to go by what she tells me not what I read. I am so confused!!!

Re: Marriage license question

I went to the Town of Babylon to get my marriage license and they did ask for a birth certificate.
