marriage license question...

two questions...

1) If you don't live in NY State but are getting married in NY, can apply for your marriage license anywhere in NY or does it have to be in the specific town your getting married in...

and 2) do we need a witness with us?

crazy that we're 3 days from being eligible to get our marriage license!!!

no to both questions.

You can apply anywhere in the state and you don't need a witness with you. Just your original birth certificate and photo ID (like driver's license, passport, etc.)

I believe if you apply in NYC you only need one form of ID but I could be wrong (I got my license on LI - not NYC).
