So FH and I plan on getting married in October in a church. However, due to insurance reasons (My COBRA is ending at the end of this month), we decided to get married next month by justice of the peace so I will be able to go on his insurance plan. Now - here is my question - will this pose as a problem with the church when we go to get married, will they see that we were already married when they go to submit the paperwork? TIA

Re: Marriage License Question
It really depends upon your church and the person marrying you. My sister did the same thing, she was married about 6 months before her 'wedding'. She got married at Town Hall for the first one and then by a non-church officiant later. I think that the paperwork was different though, so you need to find out from your church. You won't be able to get a new marriage license, because youre already married. I think with my sisters '2nd wedding' the officiant characterized it as a vow renewal for paperwork purposes, but used the regular 1st wedding vows.
