So FH and I plan on getting married in October in a church. However, due to insurance reasons (My COBRA is ending at the end of this month), we decided to get married next month by justice of the peace so I will be able to go on his insurance plan. Now - here is my question - will this pose as a problem with the church when we go to get married, will they see that we were already married when they go to submit the paperwork? TIA

They will definitely know because you have to bring the church your blank marriage license the day of, or the day before, your wedding. I would consult with the church on this situation. Maybe you can have the church marry you instead of justice of the peace in a very small ceremony, and then have a vow renewal on your 'wedding day'.
