I am getting married on 11/22. I was wondering how far in advance I can get the license.

I believe in NY it must be at least 24 hours before and no more than 60 days before.

My FBIL is getting married the day after you and I just spoke to his fiance' last night and they got theirs this week! So you're good to go!

When I called the Town of Hempstead clerk office to ask about the Marriage License the lady told me it is good for 60 days. When you go make sure you bring 2 forms of ID each - one must be with a picture. Also bring your SS# - whether it's your SS card or something that has your SS# on it (I lost my SS card).

I went last week and they didn't even ask me for the SS card, just the birth certificate and photo id.
