you won't really find any in long island that do that---i think mostly the city doesn't care much about the birth certificate.

I have NO idea where my birth certificate is. I had a new one some years ago to get a passport, but don't know what happened to it. I have a passport and a drivers' license--isn't that enough! Ack. I wonder how fast and how expensive to get a birth certificate...

I just ordered a new birth certificate. Easier than trying to find an office that doesn't require one, because they're supposed to, I looked up the NYS form. Should be here this week, I got the fast ship option. Otherwise it only costs $20, but I paid $30 so we can get the license late next week when I'll be off from work (my FH works an odd schedule and has some weekdays off.)

if you're christian, you can supply your baptismal certificate in lieu of a birth certificate... but you definitely need an official copy of one of those 2 documents....

YOu get your Birth Certificate in the same office you get your Marriage license, and its $10 and they give it to you while you are there

manhasset is really strict, if you only have your drivers license i wouldnt go there.

i went there with a drivers license and baptismal certificate and my fiance had his drivers license and naturalization papers and we got denied because my baptismal certificate had my name written with my catholic name first and then my legal first and last name. she said it's never written that way but i dont know...why wouldnt the church write my catholic name first...my parents legal names arent even on the certificate and only their Catholic names....

anyways, yea so we went to the city clerk's office in kew gardens, queens. we were in and out fairly quickly and only needed our drivers license.

We went to Islip and they would not even look at our docs without the birth certificate, then we went to Brookhaven, but my fiance's baptismal cerificiate was in Polish so we found a translator had it translated and went back to get the license....
