we figured we have 15 days left, it shouldn't be a problem to get the license. so i call up the town hall at huntington to find out which nights they are open late so we can get down there (i work in the city, fi works on li) and they are only open late on friday night. so when i called yesterday i asked if i could come today and they said friday night marriage license issuance is by appt. only. OK so give me an appt!! and the only one availabe was at 4:30. so next friday! only 5:00 available. so basically we are getting our license 3 days before the wedding when we both have off and can run down there in the morning (no appt's necessary in the morning)
btw, i called smithtown town hall as well and they don't even have one late night!

It doesn't take that long - we got ours 2 days beforehand. It's not that big of a deal...not like you have to sit there all day

you can try islip town hall - i think their late night is tuesday(if notthursday - i forgot which night we went but you can call and they will tell you). They are opened till 7 and no appointment needed

patchogue is late on monday...but they have strict requirements so we just took off one afternoon and went to smithtown.
just call and make sure you have everything required before you go and it should be fine!

We went to smithtown, it was during the day but it went really quick. Just a side note, ask what paperwork you need!! We came all prepared with our birth certificate only to find out they dont need that, they need proof of SS#!!!

you can get your marriage license for any TOWN hall, or city hall, it cant be a VILLAGE hall however, so lindenhurst or islandia for example do not issue marriage licenses, there is a list on this site I think uner planning....

In Lindenhurst the town clerk's office at Babylon town hall on sunrise hwy, don't they do licenses?

What about if your ceremony is in Queens? Can I get it at any town hall or must I go to a city courthouse? Its easier for me to go out by FI house., rather than a city courthouse.
