Marriage Licenses AFTER 5pm???

Hey Ladies,

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a marriage license on a Saturday....we live in the Town of Hempstead

Edit: Ok so Saturday is a no go...what about a late week night???

no, but if you find out, I would be happy to get mine on saturday too.

I was told they are at courts and courthouses are open mon thru fri from 9 to 5.

you can only go monday thru friday. the town of hempstead opens at 815 am. i just went on thursday and it took about 15 minutes. we were the only ones there.

Ugh....I can't take a day off of work b/c it's a new job. Do any town halls or courthouses have a late night for people who work?

The town hall in oyster bay has a late night on Tuesdays (i think till 7 or 8)

Many of the Town Halls have one night they are open late. Make sure you get there 15 minutes before they close just incase

I got mine in the town of brookhaven. I know they are far from you, but it was open until 7 on Monday nights...

you can call around and find out which town hall has late hours. or maybe you can go in late or leave erly from work to avoid taking a whole day off for a small errand (once you're there, it should take you more than a half-hour). remember, you cant get your marraige license until 30 days before the big day (or is it 60 days? i forget.) so you won't be making this trip for a couple of months if you're getting married 9/28.

the town may (usually) have 1 or 2 late nights a month...just call and ask.

I called Islip town hall and they have a late night...I think Tuesdays until 8pm

They have a late night, but the website says that is not the case for licenses....

'The marriage section of the Oyster Bay Town Clerk’s Office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Applicants should arrive prior to 4:15 p.m. Both applicants must appear in person. Two forms of ID are required'

I was hoping for a late night too, but there's no such thing ! !
