Married @ Gurney's!!!!! Mini Review!

Hi All!

We just got married last Saturday (May 30, 2009) at Gurney's in Montauk and it was our dream wedding! It was the greatest night of our lives! My only advice to you is that it goes by sooo quickly so make sure you take it all in!

Here is a quick mini-review (more pics in my album):

1) Gurney's Inn - A++++++++++++++++++++++
I can't even begin to explain how amazing everything at Gurney's was. Ginny, John and Phyllis were absolutely amazing in every aspect. They answered every question I had and always made me feel like I was the only bride they were dealing with! They were very attentive the day of and made sure we had everything we wanted. Everything from the ceremony to the bonfire was perfect. If you are looking for the perfect beach wedding, then Gurney's is definitely it! All our guests keep telling us it was the best wedding they've ever been to. Everyone felt like they were on vacation and the atmosphere created a very relaxed environment and all our guests were able to let loose and just have fun!

2) Mariann from Blue Daisy - A++++++++++++++
Mariann has been absolutely amazing throughout this whole process. She was a doll to work with and is so incredibly talented. If my pro pics are anything like our engagement pics, we'll be super lucky! She was around for every moment and I can't wait to relive the experience through her photographs.

3) Adam from Pennylane A+++++++++++++++
Again, I got lucky with another amazing vendor. Adam was a pleasure to work with. He showed up earlier than expected and got right to work. He never got in the way but was always around filming every important moment. He is so talented and we can't wait to see our video. His work is super creative and his videos totally lack the cheese factor that many other places have. He created our photo montage that we showed at the wedding and our guests were in awe over it! He's amazing!

4) Frank From FM Entertainment A
Frank was our MC and he was amazing. He was great to deal with leading up to the wedding too. He got everything perfect at the ceremony and reception.....we gave him an extensive must play list and he did a great job of incorporating as many of them as possible while keeping the crowd up and dancing. He also provided the ceremony speakers and assisted our uncle who sang for us at the ceremony. Our uncle said he was amazing in every way and totally knew his stuff. FM also provided our Steel Drum Band and they were great. The only reason they didn't get a A+ is because Deirdre and my fiance bumped heads a few times via email. I know they are extremely busy right now and have a lot going on but Deirdre needs to remember this is a very important event for her clients and she can be a tad bit nicer when replying to emails.

5) La Rosa Cubana B
We used La Rosa Cubana for our Cigar Rollers. They were reasonably priced but showed up 45 minutes late. They were very apologetic when they arrived but we only got to use them for 15 minutes of the reception since it was ending and then they just hung around for the 15 minutes while guests were heading to the bonfire. I know Montauk is a long trip but they should have anticipated the long commute. Everyone said the cigars were great quality and they did roll the same amount in half the time.

6) Burton's Bridal B+
Burton's Bridal had a great selection of Maggie's at a great price so that's why we went with them. We found a dress and fell in love with it. However, it took us a VERY long time to get the dress to fit the way we wanted it. I lost 12 pounds from the time I got fitted until my wedding but I feel a lot of brides lose weight leading to the wedding. They acted like I was the only bride that lost this much weight and kept reminding us how much work they had to do on my dress. They were very conservative with each fitting and did not take it in the way we wanted. My dress is a mermaid style dress and it didn't have that fit b/c it was too big. FINALLY, the very last fitting we insisted they fix it to look like the picture and they did it as we waited. It ended up looking GORGEOUS and I got a ton of compliments but it took a lot of work to get it to that point!

7) Jen from Verbena Designs A+++++++++++
Jen was a doll to work with. She totally listens and works really hard to make sure she brings your vision to life. She is super talented and is very reasonably priced. She was always quick to reply to all my emails and I was so happy with all my flowers the day of.

8) Brunch at the Surfside Inn A++++++
Tom from the Surfside Inn was great! It's such a cute little spot overlooking the ocean. The food was delicious and Tom and his staff were super attentive to all our guests. It was a perfect brunch!

9) M-I---A A++++++++
She was amazing. I never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day! She was so calm and pleasant the whole time! I can't even explain how beautiful she made me feel! My hair and make-up were even better than my trial. She is such a talented artist! I wish I could take her home so I could feel like that every day!!!!!!!!

10) Father Bob Allmen A++++++
Father Bob was great to work with! Our ceremony was perfect! He did everything just as we wanted it and personalized our ceremony to meet our wants. It was a beautiful ceremony. Father Bob is awesome!
