Did anyone else have recently married friends that seem to make your planning seem insignificant after you listened to every single detail of their wedding?
I just mentioned something to one of my friends about the who should I invite from work dilemma, I wasn't making my decision today, obviously my wedding isn't for 11 months, but she's like you have 10 months to send out invitiations so don't worry about it. Meanwhile, I put up with Bridezilla for 15 months...
Sorry, needed to vent.

Re: Married Friends
Actually, one of my friend's just got married this past October and she has been the greatest. I mean, I vent to her about everything, things that I can't vent to my BP or family or FI about. She's been really great, and she's been helping me a lot through the whole planning thing. She jokes that she hasn't gone through the whole planning withdrawal yet because she hears about mine all the time.
Sorry to hear that your friend suddenly is getting amnesia from what it was like with all the planning.

Re: Married Friends
My friend, who is a 05 LIW bride, has been so enthusiatic and helpful to me. She always asks about how things are going and she has been a great friend to turn too.

Re: Married Friends
I found that to be a problem with some friends. It got to the point where I would try to never talk to them about the wedding but then that backfired in my face because it cause resentment. They felt excluded all of a sudden.
I have to say that having this site and the great friends I made here to plan along together was the best thing. It was so helpful.

Re: Married Friends
That's good! I do have some others that are very supportive but, it just bothers me that this one was such the Bridezilla and now it seems that most of the time I mention things it's either wrong or too early (even though it's later than when she did it) and she seems kind of snotty about it.
I'm learning not to mention too much to her now and rely on my other supportive friends. It's funny, my boss wants to know EVERYTHING, we'll be in meetings and they'll end and she'll have me in for another half an hour listening to wedding stuff.

Re: Married Friends
Nope, my married friends miss the wedding planning and always offer to help. But I have not had any drama yet.

Re: Married Friends
i can relate. two of my close friends got married in 2005 and now that i'm the one planning they are like 'oh I am so glad it is not me.' and they are just not excited about things as i thought they would be. my best friend is also getting married in 7/2007 and will only talk about her wedding - not mine!

Re: Married Friends
That stinks! I thought that my friends weren't that involved because they were single. Stinks to know that married friends can be just as bad. I would love to help someone given the opportunity to.
