Married Girls- how long doe it take UPDATE Lost in Clerks Office

To receive your marriage certificate in the mail? I gave our marriage license to our priest at the Rehearsal, he signed it with the witnesses and I haven't seen or done anything since. Just wondering b/c I can't change ANYTHING without this or add DH to anything either....and tomorrow is 1 month

UPDATE: Stopped into the clerks office today (1 Center St).... After they searched for about 10 minutes they FOUND our license in one of their co-workers drawers along with a stack of others from around our date!!!! I guess someone had started them, not finished, sacked them away in a drawer and forgot about them!!!! I'm so happy I went there & I have my Marriage Certificate in hand- YAY!!!!!

Ours was in the mail when we got back from our honeymoon...about 10 days after the wedding.

well i am not sure if the rules are the same here in nj as ny, but we had to call the township we got married in, then we had to go up there sign a form and give them a check for a few bucks.

Once we did that we got the marriage certi. in the mail less then a week later

WOW - a month is a VERY long time. We got ours within 7-10 days!!!

Can you get in touch with whomever married you? Make sure it was sent out on time?

I was just thinking the same thing. We still have not gotten our marriage license either. DH and I will be married almost a month. I am going to give them a call and find out what is going on.

I got married on June 7, and today is June 16 and i got it in the mail
SO about 9 days total, but 5 business days total

Were you given a copy of it once it was signed by everyone? Maybe it's time to get that & go back to the town hall you got it at?

I personally would call the deacon first - to be sure you can have an accurate date of when it went out...

the day we came back from our HM we already had it, they had sent it in the mail a few days before

we just got ours last thursday and we got married on the 25th. which borough did you get your license in? we ended up calling the clerk's office to find out the status.

Thanks everyone! I will make some calls to see what I can find out. Looks like we're a little behind

So great to have so many responses from the MARRIED LADIES!! Hope everyone is doing well & enjoying life!!
