Married girls: TY note wording...??

hi girls!
i'm getting ready to start my thank you notes from the wedding, and i'm just wondering what you all wrote to the people who gave you money for the wedding... i feel weird just saying ' thanks for the money'.... my mom said to come up with specific things that i can say we bought with the money... but thats takes toooo much time.... what did you all write? thanks!

I just got a check from someone who isn't coming. (He's going on vacation)

Dear Cousin Arnie
We were as delighted in you generous gifts as we were sanded that you could not attend our wedding. We are saving for a down payment on a condo, so your gift was most gratefully apperciated (sp?). Enjoy your vacation and send us warm thoughts. We look forward too seeing you on you next trip into New York

I thanked people for their generous gift that we would be putting towards _________ (house, furniture, replenishing savings). I also mentioned something specific to the couple or person.
examples:

1)We saw you on the dance floor all night and we are so glad you had fun.
2) We have been through so much together, we are so glad you were able to share this day with us, as well.
3) You are like family to us and we couldn't have imagined our celebration without you.
