married ladies - when you started to pick out your album

how many did you pick to potentially be in the album? we are allowed 50, but we jsut went through and we came up with 70. is that normal? we go in about 6 weeks to the photographer, and i know that they will help us cut it down, but i don't see any that i want to cut. how did you get through it?

I haven't even started this process! However, our album is going to be 87 images.

We paid a little extra and had all 70 n there. We had the same exact problem, were allowed 50 had 70. I think they charged a flat fee at our place in groups like 10 extra was X amount. But talk to them, for a fee I am sure they can do all 70.

I had originally gotten it down to 80 (thinking I was going to get 60 in my album) then because of a service issue, my photographer told me to come in with my 100 favorites.

Of course, when I got in, he told me that they were giving me a 70 picture album, so I then had to cut it in the studio (again).

So the point is, it's easier to cut than you might think. Your designer will help you with that.

My contract called for 70 photos..but I ended up with 126 and a hefty amount to hand over.....

I think we got to choose 70 with 10 optional ones. What we did was go through ALL 700 proofs, we made a maybe pile and a no pile. Then the maybes upgraded to a yes pile. From there we just basically took a magnifying glass to them and cut out the ones with any flaws to make the cut.

my thought process was, we will just pick what we like. when we take them to the photographer in october, they will help us makes cuts. i think we pay per picture for anything over 50, so DH just sees the $$. i say its my wedding album and i'm willing to spend the extra $$.

thanks ladies - we'll see what happens. i'm sure as we go through them, we'll find more we don't like.

We haven't done our official list yet, but have more pics than typically allowed. But speak with your photographer. Sometimes a few pics can go together on the same page and sometimes you can add pages. It's usually not that much more.
