married on the beach?

Hi,

I am desparetly trying to find a nice place to get married on the beach. When I say beach, I mean South Shore ocean beach, not the bay or the sound, THE BEACH! Big waves, wind and all.

I have checked out Westhampton Bath and Tennis Hotel and Gurneys in Montauk. I am not excited about either. Gurneys seems kinda run down and is too far east for my relatives, Bath and Tennis Hotel seems way over priced and too 'foofoo' for my taste.

It seems like LI would be any easy place to find a beach front wedding site, but I am having a hard time. I live in Eastern Suffolk and my family is from Nassau.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

the crescent? don't know if that s beachy enough for you.
but ask because i know someone who wanted to get married on the beach & the day of they set her up on the deck

what about Jones Beach? They just redid the catering place they have there. I've never been there so I have no idea what it looks like - they are a vendor on this board. I requested information from them a while back and the prices were reasonable. Im sure its not very glamorous and glitzy but it is beachfront. Good luck.

The Boardwalk at Jones Beach is the only place that came to mind. My mother went to a wedding there this summer and said it was nice. You will of course look out the window of the restaurant and see all of the people on the boardwalk and beach, so this may only be good if you are having an evening wedding. I think it would be beautiful to have a sunset wedding there!! Good luck!
